The Panama Canal Land Tour with Train

This tour begins in the French quarter of Casco Viejo at the pacific entrance of the Panama Canal.

Admire the French architecture and monument to Ferdinand de Lesseps the constructor of the Suez Canal and chief commander of the French attempt to construct the Panama Canal.

The French quarter also offers a 280-degree view of Old Panama, the modern city, the entrance to the Panama Canal and the Bridge of the Americas.

Other buildings of historical interest include the National Theater and ancient San Francisco Church.

From here proceed to the Interoceanic Canal Museum which provides the history of the Panama Canal as well as a unique look at the construction, development and relevant documents (such as the Torrijos-Carter Treaty).

Our Next stop will be at the Miraflores Locks to witness the workings of the Panama Canal and the new visitor’s center.

Transfer to Pedro Miguel Locks the 2nd set of locks in the Pacific, from there transfer to Colon to witness the last set of locks the Gatun locks at the Atlantic Ocean.

Lunch in Colon Return to Panama via transcontinental Train along the Panama Canal.
